It is with deep sadness that we have to report that our long serving Chair Mr Muneer passed away on Wednesday 18th February 09. At this time our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
Mr Muneer has been Chair of LEMP since it’s inception in 2001. He has extensive experience of voluntarily working within the community since the 1960’s and has been instrumental in the initial development of some key community led organisations. One example of this is the initial creation of the Commission for Race Equality and the Leicester Race Equality Council. He is currently also a board member of the Leicester Muslim Burial Council and the Narborough Road Islamic Centre.
